What Vitamin Injections are Available at Tim Sayed MD?

At Tim Sayed MD, we currently offer:

  • Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C): Beyond its common benefits (bone health, heart health, blood pressure, antioxidant), Vitamin C also helps with hypertension, may lower heart disease risk, and is vital in the body’s iron absorption. It’s an essential dietary component for the synthesis of collagen and helps heal wounds.
  • Methylocobalamin (Vitamin B12): Besides energy and red blood cell production, Vitamin B12 is essential for eye health, may improve mood and symptoms of depression, and supports bone health, potentially reducing the risk of osteoporosis.
  • Glutathione: Glutathione plays a pivotal role in cellular protective mechanisms, aids in the management of oxidative stress, and has been associated with the potential to improve psoriasis. It also assists in the reduction of cell damage in liver disease.
  • Vitamin B Complex: Aids in preventing infections, promotes cell health, growth of red blood cells, energy levels, good eyesight, healthy brain function, good digestion, and healthy appetite.
  • M.I.C (Methionine Inositol Choline): These are lipotropic agents that help with the breakdown of fat during metabolism in the body. Methionine helps with detoxification and is a precursor to glutathione; inositol affects neurotransmitter signaling, and choline is important for liver function.
  • M.I.C/B12: Merges the lipotropic actions with the neurological and red blood cell production benefits of B12.
  • Vitamin B1/B6: Thiamine (B1) is critical for energy metabolism and cell function, and Pyridoxine (B6) plays an essential role in metabolism, brain development during pregnancy and infancy, and immune function.
  • NAD+ (Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide): NAD+ is central to metabolism, works as a helper molecule for proteins that regulate other cellular functions, and is being researched for its potential in age-related diseases.

We are diligently working through the necessary regulations to provide these additional injections. Our goal is to ensure that all our offerings meet the highest standards of safety and efficacy, compliant with California’s health mandates.

San Diego Vitamin Injections – FAQs

Vitamin injections are generally safe when administered by a trained healthcare professional. However, it’s important to consult with a medical provider to determine if they’re appropriate for you and to avoid potential side effects.

The frequency of vitamin injections varies depending on individual needs and the type of injection. Some may require weekly or monthly treatments, while others may only need them occasionally. Your healthcare provider will advise you on the appropriate schedule.

Vitamin injections are typically given intramuscularly (into the muscle) or subcutaneously (under the skin), which can cause slight discomfort or a pinch. Most people find the process relatively quick and tolerable.

However, things are not that simple when evaluating a patient for a mini-abdominoplasty vs. a traditional, full abdominoplasty. The major difference between the two approaches is that the mini-abdominoplasty does not usually include an incision around the belly button, and is typically a somewhat shorter scar. This operation is appropriate for only select patients who have minimal upper abdominal looseness and excess fat, and whose main problem is some loose skin in the lower abdomen. The mini tummy tuck procedure does not usually include full correction of looseness of the muscle since the belly button is not freed up to allow access to the upper abdomen. In our experience, the best candidate is a thin, athletic bodied woman with a small amount of extra skin above the pubic area after pregnancy or weight loss. Patients with more medium or heavyset builds are much better candidates for a full abdominoplasty, especially if they have had multiple children.

Many surgeons try to limit the length of the surgical scar by gathering it in from each end, but in our experience, this can lead to a “pleating” or wrinkled look to the scar, which we do not think is as aesthetic as a nice, smooth scar. The decision on how long to make the incision and whether to include liposuction and muscle tightening is made after a careful examination on consultation with Dr. Sayed.

Many people report feeling the effects of vitamin injections within a few hours to days, especially with energy-boosting injections like B12. However, results vary based on individual health, the type of vitamin injected, and the purpose of the treatment.

Vitamin injections deliver nutrients directly into the bloodstream, allowing for quicker absorption and more immediate effects. Oral supplements must go through the digestive system, which can slow absorption and lead to reduced efficacy, particularly for those with digestive issues.
